Losing weight
Have you ever tried to lose weight? How did you feel the last time someone said something negative about your weight?
Hey, it’s Anwell, and this is Soft Power Leaders, by Brantio. We help brilliant women in Biotech and Pharma gain influence.
A teenager jumped up and down with glee and yelled, “Yes!” at the top of her lungs. Then she ran downstairs and skipped into the kitchen to hug her parents.
“I did it!” she shouted, laughing. “I did it! I finally lost five pounds!”
Her mom jumped up and down with her, beaming and giving her high fives. She said, “You look so excited about losing five pounds. Tell me more.”
Her father looked up and said, “Yeah, but it’s likely just water weight.”
Has something similar happened to you?
Whether you’re trying to lose weight or tackle a tough project at work, how would you feel if people labeled your emotions, recognized intent, and helped give you precious momentum to continue instead of pointing out the negatives?
Soft Power Leaders recognize intent and validate emotions before pointing out problems.
Thanks for listening! Now go make it happen.
